[EM] The Oddest Dream
Paige hadn't been sleeping too easily these last few nights. Everything that had been going on lately with her Whitelighter status, and the 'jingles' that came any time of day or night it was getting to her a bit. She had barely been able to fall asleep before she would hear one of her charges call for her and she'd have to get up and Orb away to see what was the matter.
That night she heard the sound and just rolled over. "No. Not tonight. Sleep. I am sleeping. No on the jingle," was her muffled reply into the pillow. Her one eye opened a bit waiting for the noise to return to her head, but when it didn't she sighed in relief letting herself drift back off to sleep.
***
The hallway at Magick school seemed a lot longer to Paige, and she wondered why she hadn't bothered to grab her shoes before Orbing out of the house. It wasn't like her, but then again things had been sort of on the chaos side of things.
"Great, now I'm Sleep-Orbing. Fantastic!" huffed Paige beneath her breath trying to stay alert just in case whoever had called for her was hiding from something bigger. She was just thankful that she had actually been wearing a two piece set of pajamas, of course the oversized pieces of candy probably didn't make it look any more normal.
The other thing that wasn't helping was that the hallway didn't seem to end. Paige was pretty sure she had been walking for at least five minutes, and still hadn't made it to the grand hall. Sure demons had taken it over recently but that didn't mean they did massive remodeling. "Okay. What gives."
As soon as she said it the door on her right suddenly opened up scaring the hell out of her as she jumped back startled. "Okay! Okay! I can take a hint! Sheeesh!"
Paige shook her head a little miffed at everything and still confused moved through the door and tipped her head to the side, because there was Phoebe coming through a door on the opposite side of the door Paige had just entered. Paige also noticed that Phoebe was pajama clad as well.
"Okay, so this just got weirder right?"

She walked the hallway, feet slapping on the ground and sidestepping the occasional piece of furniture that seemed to be slowly creeping its away across the hall. When the door slammed open, Phoebe headed into the room to see Paige across the hall.
"Ha. I knew it was you." She smirked and walked into the room more, hearing a loud scraping noise suddenly as a chair started to come into the room behind her.
"Seriously. What in the HELL is going on in here? And why are we awake? And where is Piper?" She turned around, looking at the room quickly, noticing a clock melting into the table. "And why is this place going all Salvador Dahli on us?" Things twitched and moved throughout the room without good reason, and Phoebe was beginning to freak a little. "There are just so many things wrong with this."
no subject
"Heh?" she questioned then turned back to Phoebe, "Oh no. Don't go blaming this one on me! I swear I was sound asleep, and The Book? No where near me when I fell asleep! So this??" Paige gestured wildly around herself, "So not me!"
Paige hadn't actually been moving, and yet everytime she turned around to take in the room, that room seemed to be getting bigger... "Please tell me the wall is getting further away for you too?"
no subject
"Yeah. This is... very not normal." She raised an eyebrow and moved closer toward Paige, clinging to her arm. "Okay, at least you're real." Her eyes darted around the room, wondering which thing was going to come to life next. Her question was answered as the ceiling started dropping rapidly down on top of them.
"CRAP! MOVE!" She shoved Paige toward the door she had come in through and into the hallway. The ceiling stopped dropping as soon as they made it out of the room, acending slowly back to where it belonged.
"If you didn't do this, and I didn't do this, who did??" Phoebe's eyes were wide as a duck went waddling past them in a tuxedo. It stopped, looking back at them.
"Pardon, do you know where I can get a taxicab?" The duck had a British accent. Phoebe looked at Paige, then back to the duck.
"Uh... No?"
"Cheerio!!" The duck continued in his waddle down the hallway, stopping occasionally to ask furniture and walls about the cab situation.
"Seriously. What the hell." Phoebe stifled a laugh at the idea she'd just had a conversation with a duck and tried to figure out what was going on.

"Don't look at me! I swear I had nothing to do with this." Paige tipped her head to the side trying to sort out if maybe she had some back Chinese that night, but actually now that she thought about what she ate, it was soup. Nothing dream bendy-pull-Phoebe-in about soup!
"So okay talking animals aside we are in Magick School, that should at least give us somewhere to start, but where? Well other than not in the rooms with the ceiling issues? I think we should head to the main hall?"
no subject
"I believe you. You didn't do it. But who did, and where are they?" Phoebe looked around, wondering if Piper was going to wander up and yell at the two of them.
"Main hall sounds as good as any place." Phoebe nodded, heaidng in the direction of the main hall. As they passed doorways and hallways that branched off the one they were in, different strange things were happening, including one hall that looked like it was papered with glowing neon starfish.
"Someone slipped us some acid before we went to sleep and we're sharing a hallucination," she muttered, looking over at Paige. "So many things wrong in this place." They finally emerged on the main hall to find a giant green and purple paisly elephant playing cards with a small pink chihuahua. The animals turned and nodded at Paige and Phoebe, going back to their game of pinochle.
"Why are there so many animals?" She raised an eyebrow and glanced at Paige, moving around the elephant and chihuahua.

Normally there would be walls upon walls of books, but this looked like a scene from Ghostbusters... the first one, not the second one with the bad accent guy and the painting. The books were all in stacks, to the ceiling.
"Uh... so this? Is not going to be easy of course. You know maybe we should just try a spell to wake us up? You think that might work? I mean we are short one for power of three, but... we should at least try something?"
no subject
"Uh. Okay?" She looked around, pursing her lips and twisting them to the side. "No idea where to start though." Pausing and taking a deep breath, she backed away from the animals focused on their game and went toward the stacks of books. She read the titles quickly, finding a book on basic casting. When she found one she wanted, she went to pull it out, and her hand passed through it like it was mist.
"Aww, what the crap." She attempted to grab it again and again, her hand passed through it. "Okay, maybe we can walk thr-" Phoebe took a step forward through the books, a hollow thumping noise sounding through the hall as she ran into them. She rubbed her shoulder and turned to Paige. "FINE. I guess we just write something untested and see if it works." She'd been hoping that she'd be able to find something simple that would take no brain power to get them awake.
"So." She took a determined step forward toward Paige. "Let's get crackin'!"
no subject
Truthfully she had no clue what to do except start to rhyme and see what came of it all.
"So this is going to be.. interesting?"
Paige inhaled and tried to think of something in her head, counting off the rhyme of it a bit before testing it out.
how about this spell...
to help bring us back?"
Paige finished it off closing her eyes worried about what was going to happen, "Did it work?"
no subject
"Nope." She looked over at Paige, then looked back down again, realizing that they were both standing in a square for the game board, and that there was a pile of cards for them to pull from hovering in front of them.
"Uhhhh... Maybe we're supposed to play?" She shrugged at Paige.
no subject
The card orbed from the deck to her hand, and she flipped it over. "Double red." Then suddenly the little blue piece man came over and put his flat plastic hands all over Paige's very curvy bottom pushing her from one red square to the second one, all the while with Paige going, "Hey! HEY! Watch it mister Grabby Hands!! This game is Candy Land, not Candy Ass!!"
When she was on her new found place she turned to Phoebe. "Ha! Your turn."
no subject
"NO! No touchie!" She skirted him as he chased after her, then she landed in her space. She was now one behind Paige.
"Ha yourself." She sighed. "Are we really going to have to play this entire damned game to get out of here? I'd prefer Shoots and Ladders, or HiHo Cherry-o, myself." She smirked at Paige, waiting for her to move again.

I wish instead it was...
My Bed!"
Suddenly Paige's feet felt off balance, "Crap."
Yep, sure enough Paige's bed was now in the middle of the board game and that little blue player piece was trying to hop up. "Oh no you don't!" Paige snapped back using her foot to kick his plastic hands away from the edge of the bed.
no subject
"Uhh. Paige?" Phoebe looked around for where the sound was coming from, still hearing the smack-smack-smack. "Paige." Paige was still distracted trying to keep the handsy plastic off her bed. Smack-smack-smack.
"I LIKE BICYCLES!!!"
A small, animated, badly drawn yellow guy was staring up at Phoebe, eyes lolled to each side. She looked down at him, then over at Paige, who'd finally taken notice at the yelled announcement.
"What the HELL?"
no subject
Reaching down she grabbed the plastic piece and hurled him across the room at the bookcase, which she thought would be solid, but instead the little blue guy just sailed right into the books. "Hmmm.. one problem down."
"Problem down??? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"PHOEBE??" Paige tried to yell over the little odd yellow guy that was clearly upset over something screaming at the top of his lungs. "PHOEBE????"
She hoped her sister could hear her over the yelling.
"-hhhhh... NO more PIRANAS. The gopher is an orange baby for me."
"-eeBE?... Oh. Phoebe? What the hell is going on! I want to know whose dream we are stuck in because I sure as hell have NO clue what the hell that thing is." Paige flopped down onto her bed almost in surrender, "Calgon.. take me away!"
She sat up, looked around, "Eh, worth a shot."
no subject
"Houses are green and pickles have hair." He advanced oh Phoebe, reaching out and grabbing her finger and refusing to let go. Phoebe shook her hand, trying to get him to let go. He screamed, and Phoebe shook again, this time harder, and this time he lifted off the ground, screaming even louder. Finally, she shook so hard he lost his grip on her finger and went flying, skidding across the floor and stopping inches before smacking into the wall.
"Oh... crap..." Phoebe winced and looked at Paige, expecting another screaming fit like before. Instead, the little guy got to his feet.
"Doitagain doitagain doitagain doitagain!!" He jumped up and down with a grin, then stopped, tongue rolling out of his mouth and eyes going vacant. "I'm a car. NEEEEEIIIIIGH!!!"
Phoebe looked over at Paige with an eyebrow raised. She finally went over and sat down next to Paige on the bed, leaning her head on Paige's shoulder. "I'm out of ideas." She pouted slightly as the neighing continued and he began running around the bed, stopping to thwack his head into the bedposts.

"Something just feels familiar about all this... the trick bookcases, the animals, the talking animals, the board games... and *that* whatever that is... it's more than odd.. its oddly familiar."
no subject
"Okay. I've seen that guy before." She nudged her head over toward the yellow guy now gnawing on the foot of the paisley elephant. He stopped suddenly, looking at nothing in particular.
"Elephant is broken..." He then wandered away and starting dancing with the little blue plastic player piece. When he realized there was no music, he starting making his own.
When Phoebe heard a loud, long beep, she sat up, looking at Paige. "Oh my god. I remember being in the kitchen and hearing that from... the... playroom..." She raised an eyebrow, still looking at Paige.

That thing, was definitely of the cartoon variety and good lord, Paige hoped it didn't feel pain. Because that? Looked painful.
"So... it's not the first time Wyatt's done something like this right? I mean dollhouse, toys coming to life for his birthday party... have you made any off comments around him about only in your dreams? Or... something like that? I mean I'm trying to think... but I got nothing."
no subject
She knew it was him. It was the only thing that made sense. Plus, from babysitting, Chris tended to drift off when the TV was on, and Wyatt was always very attentive and enjoyed changing the channels with his mind. "I'm going to tell your Mom! WAKE UP!" She walked over and poked the wall. "Wake. Up. Now. Young. Man!!"
She looked over at Paige. "It's Wyatt. No other possibility. How in the hel--llo do we wake him up?" She poked at the wall again. "Wyatt, you better wake up before I count to three... One... two... two and a half.. two and three quarters..." She grimaced. "WAKE UP!" She looked up and shouted at the ceiling.
no subject
"I don't think that's gonna work," she called to her sister as she got down off her bed and began to pace. At least they had some sort of idea what they were up against. Wyatt was a demanding kid that was for sure. He had already done a lot to mix up what they had tried, and that was him not even trying to do it probably.
"Well... we know that my spell... well the bed spell worked. Not the way I wanted but still, we know Wyatt is sleeping, maybe all we need to do is focus on him and where he is, and we can jar something in his room to wake him up?" Paige shrugged her shoulders up in slight doubt, "I mean is that bad? Waking him before we are out? Ooooooh. That could be very bad, us stuck in his mind? Yeah.. never mind on that horrible plan."
Paige resumed her pacing trying to figure out how to get out of the dream before they woke up Wyatt. She glared at the Candy Land game, "Maybe we do need to play. Finish the game?"
Paige headed over to her bed, "Bed!" she shifted it aside off the board and there was the red square she had been on before. Thankfully the little blue guy was no where to be seen. "Card."
The card orbed to her hand and she moved on her own to the next blue square on the board, "Wow. Only a million more squares to go. You're turn Phoebe."
no subject
"I know. I just... Ack." She rolled her eyes and headed back toward the bed, watching and listening to Paige's verbal train of thought. When Paige came to the realization they probably had to finish the game, Phoebe sighed.
"Crap. Okay." She moved back as Paige orbed the bed away, then took her place back on the board, waiting as Paige finished her turn. She reached out and pulled a card, which had the picture of a gingerbread man on it. She walked the board path, skirting Paige, and finally stopping on the space.
"Think we can cheat?" Her voice was a little loud as she called back to Paige, since there was some distance between them now.
no subject
Paige just glared at Phoebe, and orbed another card to herself. Thankfully it was the ice cream floating thing, and she just orbed herself to the square sticking her tongue out at her sister. "Besides, I'm winning... just because you are losing doesn't mean we have to cheat."
no subject
"Hurry up and win so we can get out of here, please." She moved to the second purple square ahead of her, bringing her to the Lollypop Woods. She could see the finish of the board, but still had to loop around twice. Nope, she wasn't that close to finishing yet.
All she wanted to do was go back to sleep and her own weird dreams.
no subject
The cards came for both of them and one colored square by one odd piece of candy at a time they moved along the board. It was very repetitive and reminded Paige why she always said no to Wyatt when he wanted to play the game in reality... "In reality.. Oh My God! He's getting back at us! I said I didn't have time to play Candy Land last week, and he got all pouty! Now I am stuck playing it just to get back to my own bed. Oh.. he's so gonna get it. Except in that way that kids can't really "get it" type way of course."
no subject
They continued around the board, card after card, Phoebe starting to walk like a zombie. She pulled the licorice symbol card, which took her to the last loop of the game. Paige was still a few spaces ahead of her on the last yellow square. When Phoebe saw that if Paige pulled another yellow they'd be out of the game, she threw her arms in the air.
"Pull a freakin' yellow, and we're done!!!! Oh, a purple would work too. Goooooo Paige!" She'd gone a bit loopy, and was now playing Candyland cheerleader. She crossed her fingers and bit down on her lower lip, willing Paige to pull a card that would get them out of the game and the dream.

Paige watched the card orb from the pile to her hand and by the sheer luck of the draw it was a yellow card which meant that she actually had won the game, "YELLOW!!" she called out to her sister as she took the step forward to the end of the game.
As soon as her foot stepped onto the board the entire room started to swirl around them all. When the swirling stopped both Paige and Phoebe were in Wyatt's room with him standing up in the crib just grinning wide and bright up at his aunts. "Oh Mister, when you get older? You are so gonna give your girlfriend a heart attack. No more dream Candy Land got it?"
Wyatt just laughed and then plopped back down to play with his toys while Paige shrugged, "Back to bed right?"
no subject
She smiled down at her mischievous nephew, reaching into the crib and ruffling his curls. She looked over at Paige, smirking. "You know he gets this from you, right?" She stuck her tongue out then leaned into the crib and kissed Wyatt on the top of his head. "Night baby boy. No more magic, k?" She caught his eyeline, then nodded, watching as he nodded at her. "K." She patted his head, then turned to leave his room.
"See you in the morning."
no subject
She was just glad it was over.
Over and done with.
Her eyes barely open she shuffled into her room shutting the door behind her and turning around ready to just flop onto her... bed?
"WYATT!!!!"
